What’s the Hazard?

The pot handle of select cook pots can come loose or disengaged, potentially spilling contents, including hot liquids, and creating a burn hazard.

Which Products Are Affected?

MSR® Trail Lite™ and Reactor® camping cooking pots, sold individually and as part of sets, including Trail Lite cook sets, PocketRocket® cook kits, and Reactor stove systems. See the chart and images below to identify your cook pot.

What Should I Do?

Affected consumers in the US and Canada should immediately stop using the recalled camping cooking pot/s and contact Cascade Designs for a free replacement pot handle/lifter that is compatible with the affected pot. The replacement pot handle/lifter is secure, easy to use and does not require tools. Please do not attempt to return recalled products in store. All returns will be processed online.

Contact us by Phone: 800-531-9531 Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. PST or click here to submit a case online.

Instructions for submitting an online case:

  1. Go to our Customer Support site.
  2. Enter your contact information and select "A Warranty or Repair of your Product".
  3. Enter your shipping address.
  4. Under Brand selection, choose "MSR".
  5. For MSR Product Category, please select "Cookware".
  6. Select "Customer" as your customer type.
  7. Enter the name of your product(s).
  8. In the Subject field enter "Pot Handle Recall". This will help us prioritize your request as quickly as possible.
  9. Under "How can we help with your product?" enter "I need a replacement pot grip".
  10. Please take a photo of the pot (with the handle that needs replacing) and upload the photo on your request submission. Select the Next button and you are all done!
  11. Our Service Team will follow up with you and we’ll send a replacement pot handle ASAP. No need to return the pot and pot handle to MSR.
