The Standard Fuel Pump is praised for being a perfect OEM replacement for DragonFly stoves. Customers find it reliable and effective, though some have mixed feelings about its design. It is generally suitable for most MSR liquid-fuel stoves, but caution is advised for legacy designs.

"this replaced my old one that was leaking fuel, couldn't get it to turn off. Not sure why. I called and emailed cascade design to get help on the issue, but no one answers phones or emails, so I had to buy a new one. Customer service sucked, there was none. Not sure if I have long term warranty on this pump, but with no help from the company I had to buy a new one."
"It's great that MSR makes a replacement pump for a 20+ year old MSR Whisperlite Stove. It's even better that a 20+ year old MSR Whisperlite Stove still works exactly the way it's supposed to. The new pump had it running immediately with zero issues."
"A simple pump that is field maintainable"
"Woks fine with my Wisper lite i bought in 1985"
"The pump works as it should. My old one did not hold pressure any longer. I suspect the seal had become hard over time and was no longer flexible (I think). I would have been able to repair my stove had I been able to just buy the seal, not the whole pump."
"I never had a problem with the gray pump. Parts for that are scarce. Slowly changing the Scout Troops stoves to the new pump. It works fine, but is harder to access the pump cup."
"The control valve is metal, but the valve seat is a "fine" threaded plastic. If you don't take proper care of it, the female threads wear easily, and there's no fixing it. It is not a good feeling always thinking "when will it break and start leaking?". I own a XGK II for 20 years, which is robust and made really for "outdoors". But this piece of plastic is not an equivalent companion to it. I live in Türkiye, and its very difficult to find a replacament novadays."
"Old faithful. Worked brilliantly for 20 years even in demanding climate (eg Iceland in winter). My only question is: previously, the fuel inlet line was a simple transparent plastic hose. Nowadays, there is a white cap at the end. Can someone please explain to me what that cap is for? Does it have to be removed or is it there to facilitate fuel intake when the fuel level is low? Thanks!!"
"Definite improvement over the last generation. Throttling is improved."
