Therm-a-Rest® Warranty & Repair

Therm-a-Rest takes pride in offering the highest-quality outdoor sleep gear, and we stand behind everything we make. If you experience a problem with any Therm-a-Rest® product, we will do everything we can to repair or replace it as quickly as possible.


Almost all damaged equipment is repairable.

At Therm-a-Rest, we don’t like to send perfectly good gear to the landfill. That’s why we make every effort to repair damage or defects before replacing an entire product. In most cases, damaged Therm-a-Rest® mattresses can be repaired using the simple, inexpensive repair kits offered on this website.

If you are unable to repair a damaged product on your own, contact a Therm-a-Rest® Service Center. If the damage is covered under your warranty, the gear will be repaired or replaced. In cases where the damage is not covered by your warranty, our service center will repair the damage for a reasonable fee.

What does my Therm-a-Rest® warranty cover?

Your Therm-a-Rest® warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship. If you are unsure how your warranty applies, please read the specifics at the bottom of this page, or contact a Therm-a-Rest® customer service representative.


What is not covered by my warranty?

Your Therm-a-Rest® warranty does not cover damage caused by improper care, accidents, prolonged UV exposure, or the natural breakdown of materials over long periods of time. Normal wear, abrasion, misuse, alteration, abuse, disassembly of the product, or improper washing and drying are also not covered. If your Therm-a-Rest product has repairable damage or wear not covered by your warranty Therm-a-Rest will complete the repairs for a reasonable fee.


Warranty & Repair Service

To begin the warranty and repair process, start by choosing your location:

Start by visiting the Cascade Designs website and creating an account. Log in to your account and create a return authorization number. Ship the item to our service center with the return authorization number, your name, and the return address marked on the outside of the package.

(We do not cover shipping charges on incoming packages. We recommend using a carrier that provides tracking.)

  • Include a note with the following information: your product’s serial number, a short description of the problem, your name, shipping address and daytime phone number.
  • Please do not send checks or cash: we will contact you if there is a charge for your repair.
  • Make sure your equipment is clean before mailing it, your repair tech will thank you.
  • Allow 4-6 weeks for your gear to be processed, repaired and returned.

Limited Lifetime Warranty

  • Your mattress is guaranteed without time limit against defects in materials and workmanship.
  • Should the mattress be found defective under this warranty, Cascade Designs, at its option, will repair or replace the mattress. Mattresses older than two years from the date of manufacture may be replaced with a cosmetically irregular mattress.
  • Normal wear, puncture, abrasion, misuse, alteration, abuse, or taking apart of the product is not covered.
  • Cascade Designs will not be liable for incidental or consequential damages. Some states do not allow this exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations may not apply.
  • Shipping charges to an Authorized Repair Center for a damaged mattress are not covered and are the responsibility of the customer. Return shipping charges for the repaired mattress will be covered.

Outside North America, individual Therm-a-Rest distributors are responsible for handling warranties and repairs. Check the following list for a distributor in your region.
