HR COORDINATOR

General Summary of Responsibilities:

Assist in maintaining HRD profile by performing any administrative duties that may be assigned by HRD Director in achievement of departmental goals. Responsible for maintaining multi-line telephone system and company front desk presence. Provides administrative and clerical project assistance to all departments. Ideal candidates would work approx. 20 -- 25 hours per week from about 9am -- 1pm Monday -- Friday. Temporary position: 6-12 months.

Job Duties:

  • Responsible for job postings and recruitment of all Non-Exempt positions. In addition, will also manage and oversee references, interview coordination and all Exempt offer letters.
  • Responsible for the onboarding of all new hires to include scheduling of pre-employment drug screens as part of the process.
  • Maintain confidentiality and assist HR with any projects.
  • Acts as the back-up for 1 break and 1 lunch per day at the front desk and as the replacement in the event that the front desk is understaffed. As part of these duties, you may also be asked to:
  • Politely and professionally answers multi-line telephone system and routes calls promptly. Responds to and assists with employee inquiries. Interacts on a daily basis with all levels of employees and management.
  • Proactively greets, welcomes, and registers visitors. Also notifies appropriate personnel and/or departments being visited.
  • Receive, sort and distribute daily mail; stuffs and mails out invoices and statements. Receives and sends faxes and purchases office supplies for all buildings.
  • Assist with weekly newsletter and updating and distributing the company’s org chart and phone list, and HRD Sharepoint site. Computer literacy in MS Office including Publisher and general computer experience required.
  • Check and assist that conference rooms are organized with familiarity with meeting planning.
  • Make companywide announcements over the PA system, for company meetings and necessary evacuation of the building(s) for any emergency.

Education, Skills and Abilities:

  • 1-2 years of experience with entry-level exposure to an HR environment and with some HR college coursework. Administrative/clerical support knowledge and/or practice in a professional office setting and demonstrated customer service excellence preferred.
  • Must be able to multi-task in a sometimes demanding environment with ability to work independently, prioritize, and meet deadlines. Must have an acute attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Pleasant and courteous, efficient telephone manner, and prompt routing of calls. Greet all visitors in a polite and friendly manner.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills in a multicultural atmosphere, including effective skills in English (written and verbal).

BRAND DIRECTOR- SEALLINE/ECASE/PACKTOWL

General Summary of Responsibilities:

The Brand Director is the business leader for the SealLine, Ecase, and Packtowl brands. S(he) is the global brand steward, and is directly accountable for growing market share and profitability in the US, Canada, and PacRim. This is achieved through a deep understanding of market opportunities, and the effective development of products and programs to maximize them. Product innovation will be emphasized as a key component of success, along with sales channel expansion. The position will lead collaboration across all resources in the organization to achieve results in a highly competitive and fast changing environment.

Job Duties:

  • Fully understand the end consumer and the activities they engage in; monitor market trends and competitor activity. Actively use this information to guide key decisions.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate a rolling Three Year Strategic Plan for each brand, subject to the Business Unit strategic plan and in alignment with other Business Units. Includes market position/share and corresponding financial plan.
  • Identify new product and/or new market opportunities, develop business case, and establish go-to-market plans (positioning, product, pricing, distribution, and marketing communications).
  • Lead cross-functional team in the efficient execution of these plans. Achieve annual market share and profitability targets. Includes establishing and managing goals for revenue, gross margin, and product development/marketing investment. Achieve investment project commitments, including project cost, schedule, ROI. Review and approve partner (EU and New Markets) Business Unit strategies for alignment with global brand strategy. Consult on partner Business Unit tactics.
  • Achieve periodic breakthrough product innovations that enhance the reputation of the brands and of the corporation. Also periodically identify and submit for consideration new business areas for the corporation, either within, adjacent to, or unrelated to the assigned brands.
  • Monitor the performance of the brand as a whole and initiate / take corrective action as required to preserve value or take opportunity. Includes periodic review of brand health; product assortment and pricing; and product development, operations, sales, and marketing quality.

Education, Skills and Abilities:

  • 8 - 10 years’ experience in a brand or product management role pertaining to consumer products, preferably in the outdoor industry.
  • User specific expert in paddling, commuter/urban, and backpacking.
  • Deep passion for product technologies and innovation.
  • Degree or equivalent in Business, Marketing, or Engineering.
  • Proven experience developing effective strategic plans.
  • Financial planning and analytical skills.
  • Project management skills.
  • Team leadership and communication skills.

SENIOR COST ACCOUNTANT

General Summary of Responsibilities:

Responsible for the proper valuation of inventory and cost of goods sold and the dissemination of relevant weekly, monthly and annual reports to key operation personnel within the Seattle facility. Key contact for daily operation issues including Information Technology, Receivables, Payables, Operations, Accounting and Business Units.

Job Duties:

  • Responsible for the proper valuation of inventory for Seattle & Reno facilities. This involves daily and monthly review of all aspects of manufacturing accounting including standard cost development and resulting manufacturing and purchasing variances. Daily communication with operations is required to explain and resolve issues.
  • Responsible for directing operational month and year end processes. Responsible for meeting month end deadlines and conducting various analysis including obsolescence, work order variances and inventory reconciliation. Also, responsible for proper overhead allocation, various one off month end issues.
  • Instrumental in the company budgeting and inventory valuation process. Work with all disciplines in Seattle & Reno facilities to set proper standard costs to facilitate proper valuation for budgeting. A preliminary budget is created in fall for upcoming year and finalized in fall. Separate costing budgeting/analysis are conducted for winter and medical products.
  • Daily work with operations, accounting, information technology, business units and Ireland to resolve various issues and facilitate proper resolutions.
  • Key contact for the year end audit. Provide multiple prepared by client schedules and perform multiple analysis to assist the audit.
  • Complete and provide several schedules to multiple sources throughout the course of a year. This includes federal and state Schedule 263A.
  • Provide various weekly reports to operations including direct labor, purchase price variance and cost of quality. Work with operations to research and resolve various issues from these reports.
  • Coordinate transfer pricing, calculate TTI and develop the annual price book.
  • Work with CFO and Financial Controller on projects on an as needed basis.

Education, Skills and Abilities:

  • BA or BS degree required.
  • JDE Experience preferred.
  • Five to eight years of accounting experience.
  • Experience in discreet manufacturing environment.
  • Must have knowledge of standard cost systems.
  • Must be able to work with employees in all disciplines in Seattle, Reno and Ireland facilities.
  • Must be able to work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Detailed oriented and analytical.
  • Must be flexible to meet deadlines and overtime is required during budgeting, pricing and month/year end times.
