SENIOR GRAPHIC DESIGNER

General Summary of Responsibilities:

The Senior Graphic Designer supports the Marketing team and leads the design process to produce best-in-class global marketing communications for Therm-a-Rest. This is achieved by working collaboratively on dedicated brand teams to include Marketing Directors, Category Directors, Product Managers, Copywriters, UI Designers, Web Developers, and Marketing Managers and Coordinators. The primary responsibility is to provide graphic design for the Therm-a-Rest brand and marketing programs that authentically connect with Cascade Designs’ consumers, builds brand/product awareness, and drives sales.

Job Duties:

  • Develop and produce concepts that meet Brand Business Unit and/or Corporate Marketing stated objectives. Concepts should be sales-focused, consistent with brand standards, authentic, on-strategy and within budget (time and dollar allocations).
  • Global design projects will include but are not limited to the following: Product packaging, instructions, graphics, color (70%); Front-end website design; Email marketing campaigns; Workbooks/Catalogs; Consumer brochures; Advertising (print and digital); Retail display graphics/signage; Trade Show graphics, plan-o-grams; Sales literature; Mobile application design.
  • Create Brand Guidelines and Brand Frames to ensure consistency and compliance to set brand standards for use by internal and external partners.
  • Art direct all product and lifestyle photography. This includes developing a photo brief, selecting photographers and studios, photo asset management, and may involve scouting of location, acquiring product, lining up models, etc.
  • Manage design projects with internal and external clients and/or design partners for creation, proofing, approving and editing of all concepts/copy.
  • Responsible for the quality of all printed materials through prepress coordination and print production/press checks. Adhere to print production approval procedure for offshore vendors.
  • Achieve and manage established project deadlines to scope and on budget. Track and report on all tasks and deliverables via our internal project management tool, At Task.
  • Proof assigned projects to ensure design accuracy and quality.
  • Coordinate graphic files to and from translation services.
  • Estimates, tracks & manages graphic design resource (hours) needed for assigned programs/projects. Identifies and recommends additional graphic design resource needs early in project planning.

Education, Skills and Abilities:

  • 5+ year’s graphic design/art director experience.
  • Proficient with Mac operating system.
  • Experience building web interfaces for mobile devices. Experience building Mobile applications for iOS and Android is a plus, but not required.
  • Pre-press and print production supervision.
  • Estimating, budgeting, and cost control.
  • Photography Direction.
  • Electronic Production.
  • Proficient with the following software: Adobe Creative Suite, Web design software, Flash Animation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work flexible schedules to meet project deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented, able to effectively prioritize multiple projects and thrive in fast-pace environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Effective in cross-functional team environment.
  • Broad experience and current activity in human-powered, backcountry and paddling sports is preferred to lend authenticity to design.
  • Art School or University Degree in Graphic Design.

GENERAL LEDGER ACCOUNTANT

General Summary of Responsibilities:

Responsible for management of fixed assets, state and local taxes, General Ledger reconciliations, bank reconciliation, and month end journal entries. This position likely to receive special projects. Backup functions may include Accounts payable and cash receipts posting.

Job Duties:

  • Manage overall capital projects including software, interface to g/l, fixed asset management, depreciation calculations, personal property tax affidavits, and financial analysis.
  • State, City and County tax returns and compliance for corporate recordkeeping.
  • Reconcile bank account activity daily with monthly summary.
  • Participate as a core member of the financial statement preparation team.
  • Processing weekly check runs and manual checks when necessary.
  • Backup payroll, Cash receipts, Cash application processing.
  • Manage General Accounting and Tax Archives.
  • Ensure accuracy of the Balance Sheet by managing reconciliation schedule for each account.
  • Prepare schedules for outside auditors, play a key role in annual financial audit.
  • Payroll journal entries and accruals.
  • Assist CDI employees w/ specific requests for G/L Expense detail.
  • Perform any other duties and/or tasks that may be assigned on an as-needed basis.

Education, Skills and Abilities:

  • BA in Accounting required.
  • 5+ years GAAP experience including hands-on monthly closing.
  • Working knowledge of excise taxes for Washington State, King County and City of Seattle.
  • Experience with J.D.Edwards is preferred.
  • Proficient in 10-key.
  • Must have an acute attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of various computer programs such as Excel, MS Word, fixed assets modules or stand-alone software, bank reconciliation software.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in written form.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills in a multi-cultural atmosphere.
  • Must be able to multi-task in a sometimes-fast paced and demanding environment.
  • Must be able to prioritize and meet deadlines.

RENO-SEWING SPECIALIST

General Summary of Responsibilities:

Production Specialist in sewing must be able to do simple sewing tasks using industrial machines along with simple maintenance of the machines such as oiling, needle change, foot change, and bobbin change. A Production Specialist uses hand tools and machines to assemble a variety of products following standardized methods. He/She must also be able to achieve the daily production goals, meet quality standards and follow safety procedures. Production Specialist 1 works in a variety of positions in a work cell and must have supervision when doing changeovers and setups.

Job Duties:

  • Know the essential functions of Industrial sewing machines (Single Needle, Double Needle, BarTacker, BoxTacker, and Progammables).
  • Manufacture products to the planned production schedule on one production line.
  • Ensure consistent throughput and quality by following drawings and work instructions. Responsible for accomplishing line metrics set by management.
  • Ensure a safe work area by following safety procedures, Hazard sign offs, and work instructions. Maintain cleanliness of area.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to try new ideas, and work in different areas to gain knowledge and skill in order to maintain a flexible work force.
  • Demonstrate teamwork skills and contribute to assigned work team in order to achieve goals.
  • Show the ability to learn how to setup, and changeover various products and machines.

Education, Skills and Abilities:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 2 years industrial sewing machine experience preferred.
  • Must communicate in English.
  • Basic Math and writing skills required.
  • Must have good hand-eye coordination and good attention to detail.
  • Must be able to follow work instructions and Safety procedures.
  • Able to work extended hours when needed.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment as well as independently.
