MARKETING MANAGER – NEW MARKETS

General Summary of Responsibilities:

The Marketing Manager helps ensure the cohesive and timely delivery of top class marketing for the Business Unit. This is achieved by developing project plans in support of key marketing initiatives, leading cross-functional teams in the timely and effective execution of those projects, and evaluating key success metrics. Some projects are global in scope.

Job Duties:

  • Project Planning-Primary author of project plans for a wide range of initiatives; Define project requirements and objectives; Prepare project brief, budget & timeline; Develop creative brief, in partnership with Copywriter and/or external agencies.
  • Project Leadership & Coordination- Lead and influence cross-functional teams in the effective execution of above projects to meet stated objectives; Review, provide feedback on, and approve creative; Coordinate timelines and budgets to ensure adherence to plan; Track campaign metrics, analyze project results, and report back to team quarterly.
  • Marketing Planning & Budgeting- Support Marketing Director in the development of marketing strategies, brand/product positioning and marketing plans; Complete research & analysis to understand market and consumer trends; Assist with development and tracking of BU marketing budgets.

Education, Skills and Abilities:

  • 5+ years product marketing experience to both consumers and trade (previous outdoor, bike and/or action sports-industry experience a plus).
  • Demonstrated success leading and coordinating projects listed above.
  • Strong understanding of web, social, mobile, and emerging technologies.
  • Proven execution of promotional campaigns deployed successfully.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Passion for developing strong creative that achieves business goals; proven success providing effective feedback to creative teams.

COPYWRITER

General Summary of Responsibilities:

The Copywriter writes copy and contributes to brand strategy and category positioning for all global marketing communications relating to the Therm-a-Rest brand. This is achieved by working with the Brand Marketing Director, Marketing Manager Category Directors, Product Managers, Marketing Coordinators, and Graphic Designers. The primary responsibility is to write marketing copy that authentically connects with Therm-a-Rest’s consumers, builds brand/product category awareness and drives sales.

Job Duties:

  • Maintain a personality and voice for the Therm-a-Rest team’s brand via copywriting for all marketing vehicles in alignment with brand, category and product positioning platforms. Own, and be accountable for, authentic, benefit- and sales-focused marketing messaging.
  • Copy (60%)-Write and proof copy for all marketing vehicles.

Education, Skills and Abilities:

  • Three-plus years of experience crafting marketing copy for a variety of communication tools (previous outdoor-industry experience a plus).

  • Demonstrated success in managing project workload, estimating and tracking time and status reporting, via an internal or external project management program.
  • Experience and current activity in at least one of the following preferred to lend authenticity to writing: Backpacking, alpine climbing/mountaineering, paddle touring, bike touring, bike packing and or other human powered outdoor pursuits.

Job Duties:

  • Product Planning: Responsible for determining and rationalizing the product line to meet market objectives and customer requirements, establishing and maintaining product specifications, working with manufacturing to ensure manufacturability and design quality, and establishing and monitoring relationships with key suppliers.
  • Product Development: Prioritize, coordinate, and participate in all product development projects for assigned product lines. Be the project manager and/or technical lead when necessary.   • Leadership: Lead cross-functional team members and build relationships, particularly with Product Development, Sales, Marketing and Manufacturing to achieve consensus on key decisions that assure product leadership, innovation and growth in their category.
  • Use the product: Responsible for spending time in the field using the product to better understand the customer and the product line needs from a first-hand perspective.
  • Budgeting/Cost Management to Improve Profitability; Monitor sales; Understand annual forecasts, annual pricing and positioning strategy; Coordinate with Marketing; Coordinate with Market Research; Competitive Analysis; Patents; Regulatory; Sales Sampling; Support Consumer Service, Sales departments, reps and key accounts.

Education, Skills and Abilities:

  • Passion for the product line and 5 years product manager or marketing or engineering experience in the outdoor industry. 2 years experience in manufacturing or product development of products with similar complexity and liability. Prior project management experience preferred.
  • Minimum 4-year Bachelors of Science degree or 10 years equivalent experience required.

PAYROLL ADMINISTRATOR

General Summary of Responsibilities:

Responsible for the administration of payroll, payroll processes and other payroll related projects.

Job Duties:

  • Monitors and maintains the accuracy and integrity of the Payroll system including new hires, terminations, and payouts.
  • Directly supervises activities on time keeper terminals and monitor all data input in time and attendance.

RENO-MANUFACTURING ENGINEER

General Summary of Responsibilities:

Responsible for the design and documentation of high quality manufacturing equipment and tooling. Develops new manufacturing processes and equipment and contributes to the continuous improvement of existing capabilities. Performs administrative functions in support of daily Plant operations including updating Bill of Labors (BOLs) and dispositioning NCRs.

Job Duties:

  • Designs manufacturing equipment and tooling with consideration for quality, safety, performance, cost, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Provides complete component drawings, assembly drawings, electrical diagrams and other documents necessary to build manufacturing equipment and tooling.
  • Works closely with Plant Managers, Division Directors, and Product Development to ensure that manufacturing equipment developed is effective, safe, and consistent with the strategic needs of the organization.
  • Executes continuous improvement in the plants through lean manufacturing with emphasis on quality, labor and/or ergonomic improvements using lean tools such as DMAIC and OEE.
  • Coordinates New Product Introduction (NPI) process to ensure the successful launch of new products. This includes validation of new processes, procurement of equipment and tooling, and working with planning to ensure adherence to product launch schedule.
  • Initiates and updates BOLs to ensure accuracy of labor data.
  • Works with Quality, Production, Purchasing and Product Development to disposition NCRs.
  • Monitors and reports on adherence to project schedules and budgets.
  • Designs modifications and upgrades to existing equipment and processes.
  • Prepares detailed estimates of equipment and project costs including purchased components, machined and fabricated components, and assembly labor.
  • Evaluates manufacturing processes and makes recommendations when choosing between alternative technologies.
  • Occasional domestic and international travel is required.

Education, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • A thorough understanding of mechanical engineering principles as they relate to manufacturing equipment and tooling.
  • Familiarity with a wide range of industrial processes including machining, welding, casting, injection molding, tool-making, RF welding, etc.
  • Experience in the selection and application of pneumatic components, industrial heaters and controls, motors, bearings, industrial electrical hardware, power transmission components, etc.
  • Strong CAD skills including 3D modeling and standard drafting practices. Experience with Solidworks preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills. Must be able to approach technical problems methodically and develop, document, and execute effective problem solving plans.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and tools such as DMAIC, OEE, Kaizen, Poke Yoke, Process Mapping, Kanban, FIFO, etc to use in plant improvement efforts.
  • Familiarity with statistical methods used in process measurement and control.
  • Excellent technical communication skills. Must be able to summarize complex data and present technical information to other engineers and managers.
  • Ability to plan and execute multiple projects concurrently.
  • Previous training or familiarity with the principals of Lean Manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with occupational safety standards including general machine guarding, power press requirements, and ergonomic considerations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.

General Summary of Responsibilities:

Responsible for maintaining the safety, quality, cost, work order completion and improvement of the assigned work centers. Directly responsible for supervising production operators (regular and temporary), production leads and raw material coordinator.

General Summary of Responsibilities:

The Brand Director is the business leader for the SealLine, Ecase, and Packtowl brands. S(he) is the global brand steward, and is directly accountable for growing market share and profitability in the US, Canada, and PacRim.   • Fully understand the end consumer and the activities they engage in; monitor market trends and competitor activity. Actively use this information to guide key decisions.

  • Identify new product and/or new market opportunities, develop business case, and establish go-to-market plans (positioning, product, pricing, distribution, and marketing communications).

Includes establishing and managing goals for revenue, gross margin, and product development/marketing investment. Achieve investment project commitments, including project cost, schedule, ROI.
